Hanhui H-18F — An Engineering Intern's First Week on a 1.8-Ton Excavator Job Site   DAY ONE: WHAT I EXPECTED VERSUS WHAT I FOUND Before arriving on site I assumed a 1.5-2 Ton Mini Excavator was essentially a scaled-down version of the large machines I had studied in lectures. It is not. The H-18F behaves like a precision instrument in conditions where the textbook assumptions about soil homogeneity and load linearity do not hold.   DAY TWO: THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT OBSERVATION The site foreman showed me the pre-start check: engine oil, coolant header, hydraulic sight glass. Three points, under 5 minutes. No tools, no panel removal. What I noticed: the sight glass on the return circuit is mounted at eye level from the ground — not behind an access hatch.
